A Functional and Family Friendly Living Room

Sadie Road

For this latest living room refresh, my client had a very short list of requirements for the space. The first and most important was to create a space that made for easy conversation with plenty of seating. The client also wanted to keep the budget relatively small and incorporate the artwork she owned, including frames to be used for a gallery wall. After the existing furniture was donated, we started with a (relatively) blank slate. Needless to say, I had an absolute blast refreshing this room into a light and airy space that matched the aesthetic of the rest of their lovely home.

The seating was maxed out by having 2 accent chairs facing the couch and using a bench and two poufs that can be moved around the room for additional spots as needed. This layout is very flexible and can easily be changed up. There's storage hidden under the coffee table and the console table behind the couch. The final room is ideal for hosting friends and family while still practical for the young family of four.
