This past week has felt more like Spring in Chicago—the sun was out, the birds were chirping and the huge mound of snow in the yard is down to just a teeny-tiny pile! With Spring around the corner (not ready to say it’s here—we all know it will snow at least one more time!), it’s got a lot of us antsy to do some Spring Cleaning and organizing. It’s the best time of year to take a fresh look at your stuff, purge those those things you haven't used or worn all winter and organize the items you want to keep to make for a happier spring and summer. Not convinced that tackling your dreaded closet or bedroom will truly have an affect on you? Read on my friend!
1. Increase your productivity.
Knowing where to find things when you need them will save you time during your busy day. Once you’re organized, you will check items off your to-do list at a much greater speed!
2. Reduce your stress level.
“Now where did I put that credit card bill…” Sound familiar? Giving your items a place of their own will make you feel like a weight has been lifted off your shoulders. Just knowing where your items are in your home will help you start sleeping better at night!
3. Achieve more balance.
A little organization at home will free you up to spend more time with your family and friends!
4. Save money.
A little up-front investment in organization will save you money in the long-term. People with organized homes know just how many household items they have and what items they need. You can budget and plan more effectively by eliminating duplicate purchases or additional trips to the store that will leave you with more money in your pockets!
5. Love your space all over again.
Whether your space is cluttered or your existing storage system just doesn’t fit your needs, when you get organized you will look at your space in a whole new light. You’ll be so happy with the new space you’ll look for excuses to show it to your family and friends!
These are just a few of the many, many benefits of getting organized. What are your reasons for wanting to get organized this Spring?
